Amanda Moomaw

Although I now live in Oregon with my husband and daughter, my appreciation of food started in Vermont where I grew up down the road from my grandparent’s dairy farm. I was raised on raw milk and the meat that I helped my parents raise. My days were devoted to weeding our family garden and chasing runaway cows.

Since growing up, I’ve spent my whole life around food, working in test kitchens, hospitals, bakeries, and food video production studios. My intention throughout has been to change what people eat and teach people how easily they too can cook for themselves. I helped my husband start Moomaw Family Farm while I was working full time in the city, but we’re now both running the farm as our sole occupations, along with raising our young daughter. I’m excited to be able to create this online resource for our CSA members and anyone who appreciates cooking with good meat, from local farms!
